Vessel-Specific Systems Training
We deliver vessel-specific systems training built around the actual architecture, equipment, and operational profile of your multihull—rather than generic classroom instruction. The goal is to ensure you understand not only how each system works, but how the systems interact, where vulnerabilities exist, and how to diagnose and manage issues while underway.
We conduct a structured evaluation of your vessel's systems with an emphasis on reliability, redundancy, failure modes, maintenance requirements, and alignment with your intended cruising plans. Training is tailored to your boat and may include:
- Sail Plan & Rigging Systems – Sail inventory optimization, reefing strategies, rig loads, hardware inspection, and suitability for anticipated conditions and cruising objectives.
- Propulsion Systems – Engines or electric motors, sail drives, shafts, propellers, fuel consumption, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency procedures.
- Electrical Systems – DC and AC power generation, alternators, solar arrays, shore power integration, battery banks, battery management systems (BMS), inverters, charging strategies, power monitoring, and critical circuit management.
- Fuel Systems – Tankage, filtration, fuel polishing, transfer systems, contamination prevention, and fuel management for extended cruising.
- Freshwater Systems – Water storage, plumbing, pumps, filtration, watermaker operation, membrane care, pickling procedures, troubleshooting, and conservation strategies.
- Waste Management Systems – Blackwater tankage, plumbing, venting, pumps, treatment systems, and compliance with local and international discharge regulations.

Training is conducted onboard your vessel using real-world scenarios and practical exercises. By the end of the program, owners and crew gain a detailed understanding of how their boat operates, how to identify potential issues before they become problems, and how to confidently manage systems while cruising independently.
Systems Inventory & Documentation
We build a comprehensive, onboard-accessible digital inventory structured for real-world use. This includes:
- Equipment registry with model/serial data and service intervals
- Manufacturer manuals and schematics indexed by system
- Preventive and corrective maintenance procedures
- Spare parts catalog with quantities, specifications, and storage locations
- Tool inventory mapped to maintenance tasks

Structured Sea Time & Sailing Resume Development

How to meet the experience requirements
Training Expeditions
Training Expeditions focus on building core sailing competencies.
You’ll work closely with a licensed captain and NauticEd-certified instructor to develop essential skills in navigation, boat handling, onboard systems, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
Each expedition follows a structured curriculum with clear objectives, giving you the opportunity to apply what you learn in real conditions. You’ll gain the practical experience required for certifications, licenses, and — most importantly — real-world competence.
Adventure Expeditions
Adventure Expeditions push you in a different way.
These multi-day journeys pressure-test your sailing skills and knowledge — but always with an experienced instructor onboard as your safety net. You’ll take on increasing responsibility as you gain confidence managing: navigation, night watches, anchoring in unfamiliar harbors, provisioning and adapting to changing weather systems.
While these expeditions feel more like real-world sailing than a course, they are still very much part of your training. They help reveal your weak spots, build leadership, and prepare you to skipper your own vessel with confidence.
